At Bass Angling Ireland, we only use single hooks. This is to cause as little damage to the fish as possible. Also, it is easier and less stressful on a fish being released, if you wish to do so. It is a simple task changing from trebles to singles. We fish various locations on the one tide. Being afloat obviously has its advantages; you can cover a great distance in a relatively short period of time. And you can get much closer to the bass.
